Nоwadays Gооgle Maps is very useful in finding addresses. The tech giants Gооgle are finally updating their map editing experience tо allоw users tо draw rоads arоund them, which dоn't exist оn the map. Nоt оnly this, but the users will alsо be able tо name these rоads as they wish. 


Thrоugh this update, users will nоt оnly be able tо add missing rоads but can alsо delete the incоrrect rоads that are being shоwn. Accоrding tо the Gооgle blоg pоst, the new feature is named "Drawing". This wоuld be similar tо using the line tооl in Micrоsоft Paint. This updated tооl will be implemented in mоre than 80 cоuntries in the cоming mоnths.

At the mоment if a user tries tо add a new rоad, they can just leave a pin where the rоad shоuld be and type in the street name tо submit that infоrmatiоn tо Gооgle. The purpоse оf the new tооl is nоt оnly tо make it easier tо add missing rоads but alsо tо make imprоvements such as fixing the street name оr its directiоn.

Hоwever, Gооgle will still keep an eye оn these changes being made by the users. Gооgle will ensure whether the input prоvided by the user, is accurate оr nоt. When the user adds a new rоad оr makes a change, Gооgle will display a screen warning that it dоes nоt want the bike path tо be marked as a rоad, оr tо create a rоad intended tо hurt a persоn. After this, it will take Gооgle abоut 7 days tо review the input the user submits. This update оf Gооgle Maps will be launched sооn.

To facilitate the 'One Nation-One Ration Card' system in the country, the government launched the 'Mera Ration' mobile app, on Friday to benefit citizens in identifying the nearest fair price shop and check details of their entitlement and recent transactions. This app will benefit especially those ration card holders who move to new areas for livelihoods.



The Android-based app is developed by the government in association with National Informatics Centre (NIC) "to facilitate various ONORC related services among National Food Security Act (NFSA) beneficiaries, particularly migrant beneficiaries, FPS dealers, and other relevant stakeholders. 

This app is currently available in Hindi and English. Gradually, it will be made available in 14 other languages.


Benefits of 'Mera Ration' app

  • On this app, ration cardholders will be able to check themselves how much ration they will get.
  • With the introduction of the 'Mera Ration' app, there will be transparency in ration distribution.
  • This app will be able to benefit especially the migrant people because, under the One Nation One Ration Card Scheme, ration cardholders will be able to get their share of grain from any ration shop anywhere in the country.
  • Through this app, it will be easy for migrating people to know how many ration shops are around them and which shops are closest to them.
  • Beneficiaries can also give their suggestions through this app.

To use the 'Mera Ration' app, you have to download this app. After that, a login process has to be followed. The beneficiary will need an Aadhaar or ration card number for login. After entering this number, you will be able to log in and take advantage of the features provided in this app.

After the launch of this app, Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey said that 'We plan to bring this mobile app in 14 languages. The selection of the languages is based on the places which have maximum migrating population .'


The secretary said that under the key features, migrant beneficiaries can register their migration details through the mobile app. Migrant beneficiaries can register themselves before starting their journey and the system will automatically allocate foodgrains quotas. Apart from this, NFSA beneficiaries can identify the nearest fair price shop, they can easily know the details of their food grains, view the details of the last six months transactions, and the status of Aadhaar seeding.

Advantage of this feature

An account holder can cancel your subscription

TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) was testing a new blockchain technology to prevent fake messages. It was designed to filter out bogus messages, whose testing has now been put on hold.

After the strictness of the government regarding unsolicited calls and messages, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Tuesday decided to temporarily suspend the 2018 Telecom Customer Preference Regulations (TCCCPR) which aimed at reducing spam SMS messages. 


The delay has been caused by a massive disruption in SMS services which has worried a large number of people in the country. Telecom operators implemented the new DLT (distributed laser technology) process to comply with the new regulations. However, this move made it difficult to obtain one-time passwords (OTPs) through SMS messages and processes like cowin registration, debit card transactions, two factor authentication, and many more online activities which include SMS services for working .


What is the new DLT system?


The new DLT system is a kind of filter process, in which a particular type of OTP SMS is forwarded. In simple terms, the rule of delivery of the contents of every SMS containing the registered template has been implemented only after it has been verified. This process is called scrubbing. For this, telecom companies have to register their specific templates to banks and other financial companies. The last date for registering the template was 7 March 2021. After this, the DLT rule was implemented on behalf of the telecom companies. By this time, the preparation of the companies registering the template was incomplete. But the telecom companies started implementing the new rules as per the TRAI guidelines from 8 March. Due to this, people are facing the problem of not getting an OTP since 8 March.


Is this suspension permanent or temporary?


Industry sources have confirmed that TRAI is suspending TCCCPR due to OTP issues that Lacs of people faced on Monday. According to one source, the affected OTP API will "work again soon". It said that most of the OTP systems are already generic and the rest will be fully functional soon.


However, this is not a permanent rollback. Instead, it is a temporary measure of the difficulties people face. “People have to submit a blueprint for their messages, and the whole process continues". The suspension of TCCCPR is only a temporary measure. 

TRAI still needs to clarify whether the suspension is limited to a period or whether it is for an indefinite period. Some sources told that the regulator is yet to notify telecom operators of the update.


Government showed strictness


The government recently became strict in this matter. Fines will be imposed on companies sending unsolicited commercial calls or SMS to customers. Soon some apps will be developed through which customers will be able to complain about unsolicited calls, SMS, and financial frauds to the telecom companies. Also, to prevent financial fraud a Digital Intelligence Unit will be set up.


These decisions were taken in a meeting chaired by Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad recently. In a meeting with senior officials of Prasad, the number of commercial calls was said to increase. Officials said that commercial calls and SMSs continue to come from the same number, even though customers have been registered in the Do Not Disturb (DND).


Prasad instructed to take strict action against such companies and asked for the provision of penalty on them. It has been said in the instructions that the connections of telemarketing companies that violate the rules will also be cut. A meeting will be held with telecom and telemarketing companies to ensure compliance with the ministry's directive.

Out with the old, in with the new! Amazon recently rolled out a new icon for their shopping app, after netizens compared it to Hitler's moustache.


Amazon trolled over new app logo that ‘looks like grinning HITLER’

The world's leading e-commerce company Amazon has changed the icon of its official app. The company changed the icon for the first time in more than 5 years.  Changes were made following the comments that compared the logo of its app to Hitler's moustache. Netizens said that the blue-colored tape, situated above the company's signature smiling arrow logo, had an uncanny resemblance to the infamous toothbrush moustache worn by a nazi dictator, Adolf Hitler.


The company had rolled out the redesigned app logo in January but soon after comparisons with a particular style of moustache that was flaunted by Charlie Chaplin and Adolf Hitler, Amazon had to alter the logo.


Following the customer's feedback, Amazon made a slight update to the app's icon. The company's spokesperson said that 'Amazon always finds new ways to delight customers. He further added that the company designed the new icon to spark anticipation, excitement, and joy when customers start their shopping journey on their phone, just as they do when they see our boxes on their doorstep.


What changes we can see in the new logo ?

The new logo design has now started appearing on the App Store. The updated icon still features the blue tape on top, but without the jagged edge. The blue tape has been changed to look like someone is tearing the tape. As a whole, the logo now displays a curved arrow with Amazon's signature on the Amazon app, which looked like a smile. Brown background cardboard, which was earlier visible during the delivery of the Amazon product.


Let me tell you that this is not the first time that Amazon has come into controversy for using the Nazi image. In 2015, a poster of the Amazon Prime show 'Man in the High Castle' was put on the metro rail in New York. During this time, many riders had told that they have objections to this poster and if it looks like a Nazi symbol, then it should be changed.
